Dear Sweeping Industry Professional-
Welcome to WorldSweeper.com's coverage of the 2017 National Pavement Exposition, which was held in Nashville, Tennessee in late January/early February.
Below you can see info about the two sweeping-related awards given out at NPE: First, the WorldSweeper/World Sweeping Association's annual Award of Excellence in Power Sweeping, which is an award tradition I began in 1995.
You can also see presentation of the third annual award for NPE's Sweeper of the Year, which was given out by AC Media, the third-year organizers of the National Pavement Exposition.
We have seven videos from vendors at this year's NPE. Unfortunately, due to scheduling and other conflicts, we were unable to bring you videos of several of the sweeping manufacturers in attendance, including Elgin Sweeper, Johnston NA, NiteHawk, Schwarze and TYMCO. We plan to pre-arrange our timetable next year to alleviate this problem.
For the convenience of World Sweeping Association members, we also offer links to the seminar videos of the two conferences that WSA sponsored this year. However, due to the licensing agreement with NPE these are available only to WSA Members. If you aren't yet a Member, this would be a good time to join!
Our coverage this year also includes a photo slideshow of some of the equipment and sweeping industry people attending the show, which will give non-attendees a glimpse into what you missed.
If you went to NPE this year, I know this will bring back fond memories. If not, it's not too early to start planning to attend next year in Cleveland, Ohio, February 7-10, 2018.
– Ranger Kidwell-Ross,
Executive Director, World Sweeping Association

Phillips is a second generation contractor who has been actively involved in working to improve the power sweeping industry in a variety of ways. In addition to being a Founding Member of the World Sweeping Association and a member of the North American Power Sweeping Association, his was the first company in Tennessee to receive the latter's Certified Sweeping Contractor designation. The Award was given out during the NPE Sweepers' Roundtable.

California-based Commercial Power Sweep was honored at the 2017 National Pavement Exposition as the winner of AC Media's award for 'Sweeper of the Year.'

NPE Supplier Info Videos
We offer videos of some of the manufacturers who were displaying their wares at the 2017 NPE. You can see these, displayed in alphabetical order, below.

Bill Silverman is a dynamic speaker who definitely knows his stuff. With a background in the Marriott organization, his presentation is modeled after the manner in which Bill Marriott grew his business into the worldwide organization it is today. As Silverman points out, in order to achieve business growth that is sustainable, as well as modular such that it holds together as you grow, you need to have a basic platform in place at each level of your operation’s size.
What works for a smaller-sized business simply becomes inappropriate as you grow. Knowing this, and knowing what blueprint you should be following well before you start running into snags, is the key to building a business structure that is designed to encourage your overall success.
In this seminar, which Silverman conducted at the 2017 National Pavement Exposition, he lays out the guidelines and information you need to get this process rolling in your sweeping and pavement maintenance business. The page at WSA includes a link to Bill Silverman's handout that was provided to NPE attendees. Click here or on the Springboard logo to access the video at the WSA website.
