WorldSweeper changes its name and mission in light of new advances in sweeping technology occurring more than just worldwide.

In 1987, Ranger Kidwell-Ross began the Supervac Quarterly newsletter for sweeping contractors, which was sponsored by the Schwarze family. In the early 1990's, he founded the first magazine for the power sweeping industry, American Sweeper magazine. Then, after visiting over a dozen countries to learn about and teach about the environmental aspects of sweeping, nearly 16 years ago American Sweeper was updated to 'World Sweeper.'

AstroscaleLogo120As you will have read in WorldSweeper's March e-Newsletter, Astroscale Space Sweepers launched the first prototype of its active debris removal 'sweeper' on March 22nd. These 'space sweepers' are designed to remove the over 23,000 pieces of debris larger than 10cm in diameter now cluttering space.

In line with this advancement – and in recognition that WorldSweeper's name and mission have now become outdated – as of today the World Sweeping Companies has announced that WorldSweeper has been renamed to 'IntergalacticSweeper.' The new logo is shown above, and the new mission statement has been updated to be 'The universe's largest power sweeping resource.' SM

At the same time, the affiliated World Sweeping Association's name has also been changed to the 'Interplanetary Federation of Sweepers,' along with the new mission statement of "Removing pollutants – from parking lots to planets."
