California CNG issues

Hi there!

My co-workers have a serious problem,
Our Pelicans are 11 years past their rotation date, and finally, our NEW machines were supposed to be rolling in this month. Sadly, we
were informed that the "Test Engine" that is a special order for our city is not up to code. We have been waiting for a LONG time, and
the Pelicans that we use now, which are LNG, are, and have been, on their last leg!!! The citizens hate us and call us "lazy" for not doing
a good job sweeping, but we can't tell them that is our EQUIPMENT that is failing and not US, because that could get us into trouble!
We are in a bad way. What can we do???

Why not just look into buying another type sweeper, which meets the current CA emission bologna laws ? There are plenty of other newly manufactured sweepers (albeit $250K to $300k) that you can buy, eh ?

And as for your older Elgins, you say they are compliant engines, right ? And that they are 11 yrs. past their rotation date. So how old would that make them ? In my company, we have sweepers to as old as the 1980s and '90s. And they out-perform the new ones !! We just over-haul them, maintain them, etc.... What's to stop you from simply over-hauling your old ones, and diagnosing whatever it is that's causing them to not sweep good ?
