Veri Makes Business Learning Enjoyable

The internet provides many new opportunities for learning. A new website that caught our eye is called Veri, which is a site dedicated to both the learning and sharing of knowledge.

The Veri.com website is all about learning, and doing so in a fun, almost playful manner. How it works is that 'experts' devise a series of questions that comprise a 'course.' Since anyone can sign up to 'teach' a course, the topics are very wide-ranging. However, there are a number of business-oriented ones that sweeping contractors might find useful.

Current business title topics include those shown below:

• "Tax Deductions for Your Small Business,"
• "Perfecting Your Elevator Pitch,"
• "Facebook for Your Business,"
• "Search Engine Marketing,"
• "Cutting Business Costs,"
• "Customer Development," and
• "Leadership Skills for Success."

I went through a couple of the courses and found them to be both entertaining and educational. Points are given for correct answers and the site even includes an 'Honor Roll' showing the names of people who have gotten lots of points by going through a number of the modules.

If you have a few minutes and want to learn – for example, sometime on a break or while you're eating lunch – you might consider going through one of the topics and its series of questions. If you have a Facebook account you can log in via that. Otherwise, although a free account is required, there is no charge to access the information.
